- Very nice item. I have seen these identical items on line and all are marked as Silver plated but I am not sure, it could be electroplated either way a very nice hippo. Quite heavy for its size so could be used as a paperweight or for ornamental purposes. In used condition some wearing of the hippos silver tone. See photos to make your own assessment of condition.
